Listen to me on a Passivhaus Podcast

PROTECT is an environmental podcast hosted by design writer Angela Fedele, exploring inspiring stories of sustainability, ocean and animal protection. I was recently interviewed on the show, which regularly features guests including climate change advocates, organisations, and concerned citizens who are driving meaningful, accountable change.

I was interviewed on this episode titled: “Healthy, Climate Conscious Homes: Introducing Passive House.”

Below is the accompanying text for the podcast, and you can also listen to the episode here.

Many of us live in homes that perform poorly—for our health and the environment—ranging from high energy use to poor indoor air quality.

Imagine instead living in a bright, airy, and comfortable home with mild temperatures all year round.

On this episode, I introduce listeners to the world of Passive House, a voluntary ultra-low energy building standard developed in Europe that is now gaining momentum in Australia.

As a Passive House designer running my own practice, I’ve spent the last 10 years delivering high-performance, ultra-low energy, healthy, and comfortable residential projects, including new builds, renovations, extensions, and alterations, in Melbourne and regional Victoria.

I discuss the key design considerations behind Passive House, including affordability, suitability, and practical strategies for creating energy-efficient, healthier homes—and how we can advocate for better-designed living spaces.

If you have a Passivhaus project in mind we would love to hear from you. We can be reached here.
