How We Work

As architects we are experts, and professionals who will take the lead on all aspects of your project, we will keeping your best interests in mind.

This blog post sets out to explain some of the key aspects of working with us to enable the best project outcome for you.

The blog starts by discussing the beginning of your project, where we will establish a clear direction for the architecture, interiors, materials, and finishes, through in-depth discussions with you and the use of mood imagery.

It will then discuss the outline brief’s development, which follows with a detailed briefing document, that captures all your needs and requirements.

The last section looks into how the above processes provide a foundation for us, as your architects, to then select all the materials, finishes, and fixtures which we feel will be the best fit for your project.

The conversation starts with a series of discussions and mood imagery to discover what you are inspired by.

At the beginning of the project, we will listen and take time to understand your needs and aspirations.

From these discussions, we will establish the project’s direction for the architecture and interiors in relation to the architecture style and form, along with materials and finishes palette. This comes about from an in-depth discussion with you, along with reviewing any imagery (or a Pinterest account) you may have. This is an important stage of the project as we want to establish what inspires you to create a project that you will love.

This will be followed up with a presentation of mood imagery for both the architecture and interiors. This provides an opportunity to ensure we are heading in the right direction and obtain any vital feedback from you.

Co-currently we also obtain an outline brief, which we will now discuss further.

We then create a detailed brief for your project.

At the project’s beginning when we establish the project’s direction through discussions and mood imagery, we will also obtain an outline brief. This will establish your requirements for the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, etc. Our preference is to do this over a discussion, where we ask a series of questions, as opposed to our clients preparing a detailed brief.

We will take the time to understand how you live; and how you will be using the spaces we are creating. This approach results in unique architecture and interiors that will inspire you and respond to the way you live, work and play.

This process develops into a detailed briefing document, which essentially acts as a checklist. This extensive document will confirm your detailed requirements.

For example, in a kitchen we will confirm all your loose appliances, so we can ensure each of these items have a dedicated home. And, for robes, we will confirm your needs for hang space, drawers, etc.

You can relax knowing your new build, renovations or extensions will reflect your design brief. Every detail is overseen with attention to detail, professional care, and with your budget in mind.

In addition to taking the lead on the project’s direction, outline brief, and detailed brief, through in-depth discussion with you, we will also take the lead on the selection of your materials, finishes, and fixtures, which we will discuss further in the next section.

We select your materials, finishes, and fixtures, which we feel will be a great fit for your project.

With the project’s direction for the architecture and interiors being established early in the process through in-depth discussions and mood imagery, we will take the lead in all aspects of the design including the selection of materials, finishes, fixtures, and fittings. This is an important part of our service. These will be presented to you, where you will have the opportunity to provide your feedback.
