Co-creation for a user-centered practice
Co-creation is a term I have borrow, and appropriated, from marketing and business strategies. It’s a brilliant term as it clearly expresses how I approach my work. My practice is a client-user orientated practice where each design evolves from working closely with my clients to understand their individual brief and aspiration. My client’s are my greatest source of inspiration. I try to get to know them to understand their needs through asking lots of questions and observing. I try to get a sense of the things that inspire them. I can sometimes pick this in the things they collect, like art work, furniture or objects. I use a lot of imagery during my consultation. It is a great tool to help me understand the things they like and don’t like.
