Traditional Forms

I might bang on about modernism; however, I also have a love of traditional forms. Does this come from my childhood of growing up on a farm in the Western District of Victoria where I was exposed to the beautiful local homesteads and rural buildings?

I adore the simplicity of a gable roof.  I occasionally love to introduce the illusion of thick walls in my architecture; this is strongly influenced by my time in Europe. It brings a level of quality to the project. I love vernacular architecture. I love its simplicity. It can be read like a book. It informs you of the local context and environment that it has grown out of.
