This Balwyn townhouses development comprises of two dwellings in an eastern Melbourne suburb. The site is owned by a couple, with the husband being a cost consultant within the construction industry.
The challenging site had it’s difficulties to overcome. These included an awkward shaped block, the clients’ requirement for side by side townhouses, a flood overlay, an existing large oak tree, and a narrow frontage which only allowed for a single cross over. The project required consultation with numerous council departments, including Town Planning, Parks and Gardens, Arborist, and Roads and Engineering. In addition to this Melbourne Water required consultation due to the flood overlay, this required an increased building set back from the west boundary. Considerable consultation was carried out during the feasibility stage.
This Balwyn townhouses have received Town Planning Approval, with the Construction Documentation stage about to commence.
